Après moi le déluge

Winters breath blew through the cobble streets as bare branches moved achingly as rain dripped down the windows like a tear does a cheek. Not a star shined in the inky black canvas.
Music floats through the haze of perfume and the flickering candle light dances. The mess surrounding me echoing the mess of my mind, collected memories thrown on the floor, notebooks crammed with scribbles and sketches.

There is no beauty without the ugly and no ugly without beauty The two feed upon each other, the two are one side of the same coin. Remember that ma chérie (mon cheri)

“There are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart…pursue those.”
My heart beats for inspiration, for real beauty and femininity in an exceedingly fake, commercialised world. Beauty can be ugly, it can be a lonely emotion that grips you in the dark night, or the way flowers in spring time bloom.

What inspires you?

Until next time darlings….

  1. What a beautifully written post! I agree that beauty can be ugly and it can be incredibly lonely. I’m inspired by what I see everyday on the street and at home, the smallest things catch my eye like the leaves on the ground or just the wind blowing in my hair. xoxoxoxo

  2. What a beautiful inspirational post! I adore all the words that accompanied these gorgeous images (especially those cupcakes.. how divine!). I’m so glad you’re back to blogging my dear. I’ve missed your posts!
